Collars come in different shapes, sizes and have different meanings; some are worn by animals to show that they belong to one Master or a number of Masters, depending on the hierarchy set down. They're worn as an ornament upon a young woman's neck as a means of having an ornament of sorts to adorn her neck. A sign of wealth and privilege as it may seem. Prisoners wear them to show to those who were to pass by them that they were simple criminals and had broken the law; they were now shackled to a chain of others for the rest of their days. But why was it that a simple swordsman wore one upon his neck? A gold coin shaped pendant hung from it as an adornment to make the simple and plain green cloth of the collar about his neck stand out. There was no need such for an adornment; his own beauty was the only adornment he needed for gaining attention from the masses.

But he didn't want attention, at least…

"Master Luke, Master Luke!" a young maid ran through the halls as a gaggle of the same battle cry was being heard through out the von Fabre Castle; it seemed its tier future King was missing, "Master Luke!"

Falling soft foot steps padded down the carpeted hall as simple eyes gazed up and down the Hall; it seemed that the young man in question was doing a good job of stirring up the help this time. Things had never been the same after the young man known as Master Luke, or just Luke, had been kidnapped seven years ago by an enemy country; whenever Luke couldn't be found. Everyone would be set on high alert and the Maids would be on a full out search for Luke, only he seemed to know where the young man was hiding. Counting backwards to one, he found himself stopping around a bend; a window was open but there was something invisible that couldn't be seen or touched. There was a faint scent of sorts on the wind just outside the window; the breeze should've blown it completely away. But this scent, it always lingered.

With a faint chuckle, he turned his head down to just below the outcrop of the window, "How much longer you going to keep pulling this game with the ladies, Luke? You know they don't like it when you do it and I'd rather not have them trying to touch me, let alone speak to me."

"Tch, however else are you going to get over your fear of women, Guy?" a pair of dazzling eyes of green looked up to the stoic blues that pulled back in fright, "See? Just me saying the word "woman" or "women" makes you jump."

Guy Cecil was a proud figure as it was, but there was always that one phobia that tended to leave him with a woeful heart, but it was leaving him open to find himself fearing something else.

Fear of rejection.

Guy's hand reached down as he grabbed a hair full off the top of Luke's head, yanking the screaming, caterwauling red head into the Castle; he wasn't in the mood for the Naïve Luke act today. Little by little, Luke had started to regain memories of those he had lost seven years ago and Guy had been there each time to see it. Even if Princess Natalia tended to intervene, taking in all the glory of the moment of rejoicing with Luke over a silly, and sometimes, stupid memory that was reclaimed. Each time the spotlight that should've been shared with him, was stolen, further pushing him into the shadows. But it seemed, lately, even when Luke would be playing along with Natalia's rejoicing; his gaze was straying towards Guy. Guy had been there always to help along with things; he was looked up to by the red head that was now clawing at his wrist to let him go. With a faint chuckle, he let go of the man's head.

"Geez, you trying to scalp me or something?" that blush of embarrassment and strewn about mix of feelings about how to act to it crossed Luke's face like it did each time he found he had made Guy happy, "How did you find me?"

Guy didn't have to give a reason as he tapped a finger against the gold coin shaped pendant of sorts that hung from the green choker about his throat, "You're always with me, so, it's easier for me to find you, Luke."

"Guy…"

The rare dazzle of astounding profoundness that reflected in Luke's eyes, the moment and way he said his name like that; it tugged at Guy's heart. He wanted to just throw away all modesties of human thinking as well as man made standards and just envelope that's eyes with his hands. Gaze deep into those gazing pools and let them see an entirely different universe that could be only expressed by showing it to him. But even that, was enough to possibly destroy that innocent innocence and naïve sensibility that made Luke how he was.

"Come on, we better go to tell one of the Maids you're fine and safe before they run themselves silly around the Castle like the last time you ducked off into town without telling anyone."

Luke faintly pouted under Guy's wayward gaze; he always seemed to look younger then he was when he acted like that, "Whatever…high strung little bitties anyways."

"Idiot," Guy's gloved hand lightly rapped against his friend's skull causing the red head to flinch, "Come on…"

~XXX~

"Hey Guy," Luke couldn't stand long silences, especially when it was to track down someone to let them know that whomever they were looking for had been found; it was boring, "How did you really find me? Honestly."

Guy softly chuckled, poor naïve little Luke; how many ways could he spin this without twisting his friend's mind into to too many knots that would leave him more turned around then a Liger chasing its own tail? There were ways to twist it about that he just knew all of Luke's hiding places from when he was a kid, or, that he had seen invisible traces of him going through the Halls to hide. There were countless ways to answer it that he knew, in one or another, Luke would believe him out of the belief that sprung from his naïve nature.

"Guy?"

Luke was at this point, stopped right in front of his friend, looking up at the quiet
blond, "I just know you too well, that's all…" Guy's hand ruffled his friend's hair as he continued on a few more steps, before looking back to see that he didn't have the red head in tow, "Come on, Luke, we're already holding up the search for you. Don't make this harder."

"There has to be another reason why you knew where to look for me and I bet it's a secret…" Luke's finger accusingly pointed at his friend's choker, "I'm right, aren't I?"

It seemed there was no use denying it, Luke truly was naïve; his secret was still hidden, "You found me out, Luke, but…I'll only reveal my secret under one condition."

"And what's that?" the quizzical look of Luke's naïve sense of self was showing itself; what it would be right to betray that trust?

Guy waved Luke over as he took his friend's hands in his own, spreading his fingers open as he laid Luke's hands on his chest, "Close your eyes and I'll tell you what it is…"

You are truly simply too naïve for you own good, Luke…

A faint brush of lips brushed against Luke's as Guy placed a faint amount of pressure into the young man's lips; a light squeak was heard escaping Luke's lips as Guy's hands came about his waist. But, instead of the image that Guy had always seen in his dreams, of Luke pushing him away, slapping him and then calling him an idiot for doing that. It was a dream, almost nightmare, he feared happening one day, that the naïve Luke would wear away and the sensible and all together Luke would reappear. All his chances of proving to him self that it was more then just friendly feelings and calling him his friend. They would be gone in that instant, but here they stood as he felt, and heard, the soft mewl escape from Luke's lips; feel his fingers cling against the fabric of his vest and shirt.

…Time's up, Luke…

"W-Wait!" Guy had pulled away without any hesitation or warning, almost unheeding as he felt Luke's hand grab the hem of his vest back, "Y-You…You promised to tell me what it was…"

It was true, he had promised, "Just this once…"

Making a full turn about, Guy undid the green choker from about his throat as he dropped it into Luke's hands, "Open the gold coin…you're answer is in there."

It seemed cheesy and childish of Guy to be suggesting such a thing, but after fighting to open it; Luke managed to wiggle the object open. Falling from it was a few strands of blood red hair as they fell from it; signs of a small ribbon were tied about the strands to keep them together.

"Guy?"

"Now you know how I'm always able to find you…I've always got a part of you with me…"

Collars, unique objects they are; they represent so much, and yet, "…Thanks…Guy…" they can mean the smallest tokens of affections for those we hold dear to our hearts.
GASP!
A Fanfic from me in...How long?

AND ITS NOT KH OR FF?!

Its the end of your little precious worlds!

Just kidding.
I still love both of those fandoms, its just...^^; A new one has stolen my attention. Mostly in part to :iconharusokuze: and her love of Tales of the Abyss, she's playing it and she LOVES the Tale of Series.
I found the anime.
Been watching it.

...And already have a character staked out for future cosplay.

Need I say more?

XP Purely fluffy LukexGuy
1) Because :iconharusokuze: as a thing for the duo
2) I've fallen for it
3) Mention about it came up in a Group Chat on Skype involving :iconblueberry-kun: mentioning the collar and possibly wearing it at AX 2010 since plans are for some of us to do ToA in 2011 at AX 2011. And from there...the plot bunnies started to cram out through my skull.

SO.
To :iconharusokuze:

Enjoy Naru...^^
